Burt's Bees Matte Lip Crayons and Satin Lipsticks Review

A girl can never have too many lip products. I always switch around colours and formulations depending on my mood and I was yet to try out what Burt's Bees had to offer. Burt's Bees recently launched a NEW line of glossy lipsticks, satin lipsticks and matte lip crayons. I was sent a mixture of five to review and I was quite impressed with one of the collections.

"Introducing six creamy, full-coverage shades of matte lip colour in a modern crayon for truly beautiful lip colour. Lightweight moisture for a comfortable, everyday wear formula infused with Shea Butter, Kendi Oil, and Jojoba Oil. It's colour that truly cares for your lips!"
£9.99* each
One of the lip collections is the matte lip crayon. There are a total of six shades and no sharpening is required.
These crayons give a lovely wash of colour and tints your lips rather than a full on colour. Even though it states that these are matte lip crayons, the finish is shiny and this could be due to the added jojoba oil, kendi oil and shea butter. I'm not sure why these are called matte lip crayons when the finish isn't matte but that aside I love that this has been made by 100% recycled material and has no added flavours of fragrances. This also contains no parabens, phthalates, petrolatum or SLS. It also states that you are able to get 8 hour wear out of this product but I wasn't able to get past 1 hour! It just disappears as soon as you drink or eat something. I guess I had high hopes for this range but I think of this more like a tinted lipbalm that you can just easily apply on the go and as often as you like. I like the fact that it makes my lips feel nourished and hydrated but the lack of pigmentation and longevity lets this one down. Check out the collection here - link

"Burt's Bees Glossy Lipstick gives you medium coverage, glossy lip colour you'll love, with natural, moisturising ingredients that love your lips in return. These long-wearing lipsticks make lips super lustrous and keep them hydrated. Nourishing Red Raspberry Oil, Moringa Oil and Meadowfoam Seed Oil moisturise, leaving lips smooth and beautifully soft. Burt's Bees also offers 18 satin lipsticks in a versatile colour palette from nudes to pinks to reds to plums. All Burt's Bees Lipsticks are formulated without parabens, phthalates, petrolatum, SLS or synthetic fragrances, and made with recyclable packaging. They're 100% natural makeup products and never tested on animals."
£9.99* each
Visually this is such a stunning product! I absolutely love the honeycomb style design on the casing and you can also tell the colour of the lipstick by looking at the honeycomb design so you don't need to look at the bottom of the lipstick or even open it to see the colour, pretty neat!
I was amazed at the pigmentation of these, just one swipe on my wrist had such great colour pay off and the formulation is SO creamy and easy to wear, it doesn't drag on the lips but applies smoothly and precisely. The lipstick formula contains moringa oils and raspberry seed oils so expect your lips to be nourished and moisturised to the max. This range also has a huge colour collection, you can choose from 18 shades!! From purple berry shades to chic nude colours, there is a colour for everyone! This lipstick is made from 60% recycled materials which I think is great, despite being made out of recycled materials, it does not look 'bad' or 'basic'. The stunning design and packaging still feels sturdy and of good quality. It promises 8 hour wear, I wouldn't say I was able to wear it for 8 hours, it did however have a overall good lasting power, 2 to 3 hours max then you would have to reapply. You can really build up the intensity with these lipsticks and the 'Tulip Tide' shade is my absolute favourite! I always keep one in my make-up bag! Check out the collection here - link

Pixi The NEW Tonic Family

Pixi Beauty have taken over the beauty and make-up world by storm and due to it's ever popular and much loved Glow Tonic, Pixi have now added two NEW tonics into the collection. A Rose tonic and a Retinol Tonic.
Just recently I received a surprise parcel from Pixi and I was so over the moon to see the mint green package because I had always wanted to try out Pixi skincare/make-up after seeing that everyone loves and enjoys using their products.
I was sent three mini tonics, the iconic Glow*, Rose* and Retinol* to try out. Each tonic bottle is 100ml and sells for £10 a bottle.
These tonics are not tested on animals, alcohol free and is suitable and gentle for all skin types! How amazing is that?!

Glow tonic
The much loved and the most popular out of the three. As soon as I got this package, I opened this tonic and used this before bed and now I have been using it in the morning and evenings without fail and I have seen a significant change to my skin tone and overall appearance of my skin. The glow tonic promises to exfoliate, brighten and smooth out the skin. It's an instant glow enhancer and contains no alcohol. The added Aloe Vera, Ginseng and botanical extracts work together to nourish and treat the skin. A cult favourite that is SO gentle on the skin, it doesn't irritate which is a huge plus for me. What's great is that you can use this am or pm and it's the one to go for if you are looking for something that can tackle many skin concerns.

Rose tonic
The cute pink one. NEW in the family, this tonic naturally soothes and is rich in nutrients. This tonic helps to tone, balance out pH and minimise redness by calming the skin. If you are looking for skin renewal then this one is perfect. The delightful Rose scent is one of my favourites and it doesn't smell artificial but more like freshly cut Roses. This also tops up your skin hydration levels too, kind of like a drink but for your skin. This is suitable for all skin types and is not tested on animals too! This will leave your skin feeling hydrated and very plump, taking away all of the impurities. Another one I would definitely recommend.

Retinol tonic
NEW in the family, this potent youth preserving tonic features a unique time-release Retinol to help rejuvenate the skin for a natural glow. Powerful antioxidants and botanicals replenish the skin for a smoother, softer appearance while soothing sensitive skin. Time-release Retinol reduces fine lines & smoothes complexion, Peptides firm skin & boost collagen production and Jasmine Flower heals & balances.
Now this was the talk of the town when it launched and because of the ingredient, Retinol that is included in this tonic. Retinol is found in very pricey skincare and has said to somewhat reverse sun damage and the ageing process. I think it's great that the Pixi tonic is still affordable knowing that there is Retinol included in the ingredients, it's not known as to how much is included but having an amount in this can maybe help improve your skin. This has a herbal smell but it isn't too potent. So with the low dose in mind, this can still help but don't expect huge results.

Lastly I do think it's great that Pixi have brought out a range so you can easily pick which one is best suited for your skin or it's concern.
Well done Pixi! I am so happy to have these in my collection! Have you tried any of these tonics? What are your thoughts?

Primark Haul November 2018

It happened. I went to Primark and all of this came back home with me *hides away* I'm really funny when it comes to Primark shopping, I hate the whole crowded areas, messy clothes and the humid atmosphere but I still end up bracing the crowd and heat to pick up some essentials and some treats. I haven't been to Primark for MONTHS and I only went in to pick up the amazing new collaboration skincare range that Alex Steinherr has released and knowing that it was going to be at selected stores only, it made me want it more! After looking in two stores I was very happy to find the skincare stand and grab the four products that I really wanted to try the most. I also picked up some lovely new accessories as well as a new pair of doughnut print pyjamas, cozy socks, cute little pink lipglosses and a adorable Winnie The Pooh mirror that was on sale! Scroll down to see all of my buys, it's very photo heavy so you might want to go and grab a snack or some tea and get cozy first before you start scrolling.

This is probably the bargain of the century, the much bigger Primark  that I went to had a HUGE stack of these mirrors next to men's clothing section? and it was marked down from £6.00 to £1.00!!! I made sure to pick up a few to give to friends and family because how can you say no to a Disney Winnie The Pooh mirror, I also love how the mirror is a hexagon which represents honeycomb - bees - honey... you get my drift?

This jewellery set is sooo cute! I love that they have included extra charms so you can really personalise your jewellery. I have already worn the bracelet and choker. The neon pops of colour really looks great on any outfit and this was also half price. I only paid £2.00 for this incredible set.

This layered necklace is everything. I absolutely love the colours, detailing and tassels. I still haven't worn this one yet but I know it will look great on. For £3 I think it's a lovely necklace to have in your collection. This feels lightweight too which is great since I prefer dainty jewellery.

Tortoiseshell earrings are IN this season and these two caught my attention the most. The colourful ones are my favourite. Both of the hoops really feel like good quality and the acrylic feels sturdy too. I am mostly a stud wearing kinda gal but it's good to switch up your look now and then. I definitely recommend buying these!

I currently have this in my hair right now haha! I swear scrunchie buying is addictive and I always buy pastel coloured ones or ones that have lace detailing but I picked this up because it has the most gorgeous autumnal print/colours on it and the silk feels durable and strong enough to hold my hair in place. Having long hair means you need to look for hair bands/scrunchies that are able to go around your hair twice or three times and keep your hair secure, this definitely does!

This was a unintentional purchase. How could I not buy this?! I found this in the kids make-up section and this is basically a pack of the cutest lipglosses you will ever see! It contains 12 tiny lipglosses in total and it has all of the different types of pink you can think of! Some contain shimmer and some contain glitter! I'm in love!! I swatched some on the back of my hand and I was surprised to see that some were slightly tinted too which is great, so not all of them are just clear glosses. Perfect to keep in your purse and pocket!

If there's one thing I find difficult in make-up, it has to be applying false eye lashes. It's just so fiddly. I came across this particular one in the sale and I picked up a pair so that I could maybe try to wear them or keep them for a special occasion. I really love how these lashes contain iridescent sparkles to make them look much more interesting. Best pound I have ever spent!

What I really popped into Primark for... The Alex Steinherr skincare range. I will be reviewing these separately later because I really want to try these out properly. I heard that it was really hard to get a hold of some of the products in some places but I am so glad that I found the four products that I really wanted to try. I also really LOVE the minimalistic packaging and fonts used, it still stands out and looks super sophisticated.

Do I need to explain this purchase? I don't think so. A beauty necessity that I make sure to have stocked up in my skincare drawer. Oh and this was only 0.90p!!!

Not that I needed any more pairs of cozy socks but I couldn't resist the colour scheme on this one. Perfect for cozy days in and for travelling too. I never leave the house without it! This worn with a dressing gown = total bliss!

I can so understand the pyjamas hype now. After buying a pair after ages. I was amazed at how the quality was and the vast range of designs/finishes available. I always avoid the pj section because I don't need to buy a pair every time I visit the store but these are super comfy and the fact that they are doughnut print, clearly means that it was meant to be mine haha. The pink doughnut with sprinkles really reminds me of the Simpsons doughnut! The colour combination is perfect! Sky blue and candy pink. My favourites. This set costed me £12.

If you have made it this far, well done! Thank you for reading my loooonnnnng Primark haul post, What have you been loving at Primark lately?

Cute HOJO Love At First Sight Eyeshadow Compact Review

Are you ready for the cutest eyeshadow unboxing ever? Ok so I have only had this for a week since it landed on my doorstep and I have been unable to part with it! When I ordered it on ebay, I had no idea the eyeshadow compact would come in such adorable pink holographic packaging! I wanted to immediately take some photos and type up an initial reaction/review kinda post.

Insert heart eyes emoji here. Just look at it! When you open up the mini package, you instantly see the heart compact and with it, holographic pink prettiness and some words describing the make-up.

The compact itself feels very sturdy and this would make a great travel companion, due to it's compact size which fits easily in your hand and the handy mirror inside. The heart shaped compact is a cute baby pink colour with 'Love at first sight' written on top. I tried looking online for the brand - HOJO but I was only able to see images of this compact and all of the ebay listings. This make-up compact is from china and seems to be unbranded. I am however, really happy that I found this. I mean it's eyeshadow in a heart shape! If you know me well, you'll know that I will buy it regardless.

Sometimes with unbranded make-up I have found that the pigment/colour pay off is really good, even though it may not be the most expensive or branded product out there so I was excited to swatch these shades and I wasn't disappointed!
The colour selection I chose was 4. There are six colour variations to choose from, from dark browns and warm reds to the girliest smokey eye colour combination. 4 happens to be the girliest out of the lot due to the cute pink eyeshadow included in the pan. These eyeshadows do not have any names and when buying the compacts you have to choose a number. I wish the palette had names, I'm sure it would of been adorable too. Each compact has four eyeshadows and what I love about this is that you can use the colours separately or together to create the ultimate soft smokey eye. I particularly chose this colour combination because of the lovely highlight shade and the sparkly pink shade. All four eyeshadows have a shimmery finish and contain tiny sparkles. This compact includes a champagne highlight, a rose pink colour, a warm peach shade and a teddy bear brown. The above swatches are without a primer so you can imagine the colour pay off if used with a primer. The powders are so soft to touch and blend like a dream. You can really build up the colour intensity with these shades and the highlight really brings light to eye area, I have even used the champagne colour as a highlighter on my cheeks too!
I am really impressed with the pigmentation and I think that this would be a lovely product to have in your collection. I think I will be buying another one but with a more intense colour palette.

So the bit you wanted to know... the price! This beautiful eyeshadow compact only costed me £3.16!! Crazy right?! You can view the listing here on ebay - link

What do you think about this heart shaped make-up product? Would you buy it?

Soap and Glory #Babesofglory Skincare Parcel Unboxing

If it's got the iconic pink and cute labelling, it's got to be none other than Soap and Glory! Recently I was sent a very generous package from the pr girls at Soap and Glory HQ. It was filled full of skincare goodies and as part of their #Babesofglory group I was one of the babes to be sent this to try out, so generous of them!

Once I opened the box, I saw a very cutely designed card that had a Charlie's Angels vibe. How cute?! It was time to meet some of their popular skincare saviours. I was sent four full sized skincare products and seeing as I have never tried any of their skincare apart from the hand cream *the infamous handfood* and body wash, I was really excited to see how these perform. I was sent: Puffy Eye Attack Under Eye Mask £3.50* Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk £8.00* Face Soap and Clarity £8.00* and The Ultimelt £10.00*

Here's a bit about each of the product, I am yet to properly try two of these products and I already love the other two. I will be reviewing each product separately soon so it's more indepth but for now read the brief description and what I initially thought.

Puffy Eye Attack Under Eye Mask £3.50*
I have been saving this for a very late night/super pamper session and it seems to be a lovely product to have in my face mask/eye mask collection. I also like how it's very purse friendly. a lovely treat to use in a pamper session on even whilst travelling. "Deploy our moisture-rich under-eye patches that work while you rest, helping reduce the appearance of dark circles and under-eye puffiness, brighten skin and infuse moisture. Packed with super-naturally good ingredients."This eye mask contains these powerful ingredients: Puffease™ technology – a tetrapeptide, proven to help reduce the appearance of dark circle and under-eye puffiness. Liquorice root extract for skin brightening, Cucumber fruit juice extract which gives an instant moisture infusion and Hyper-hydrators for moisture replenishment.

Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk £8.00*
This is one product that I am loving and using daily, this 3 in 1 wash off and purifying cleanser gently removes all traces of dirt, oil and make-up (even waterproof mascara). The formulation is brilliant, it's so creamy and gentle. It really melts away the impurities and leaves your skin feeling soft and super clean but without taking away any moisture which is great. My previous cleanser used to take away all of my skin's natural oils so it made my face feel very dry and uncomfortable but this cleanser doesn't so anything harsh to your skin. This can be used on all skin types and if you have sensitive skin, your skin will LOVE this! This smells like peaches and cream and it's oh so good! It's not heavily scented so it won't put you off. Lastly this contains four amazing ingredients that all work together to re energise, remove make-up, moisturise and add a glow to the skin.

Face Soap and Clarity £8.00*
Another multi-tasking face cleanser and this one has cute pink cleansing beads! This one truly does it all and with the added superfruit Yuzu complex, this cleanses and purifies the skin, effortlessly removes make-up and gently exfoliates too! This will also energise the skin and give you a much brighter complexion and the good news, this is also suitable for all skin types! I love the smell of this cleanser, it has this really energising fresh smell, kind of like freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning. Using products like this means you can cut back on a product in your routine. I'm down for any multitasking skincare or make-up product, saves time and effort. I am yet to try this and seeing the positive reviews online, I hope it does the same for me too!

The Ultimelt £10.00*
Meet Soap and glory's very own hot cloth cleanser. I have tried the infamous Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser and I don't think it did much for me. I have used this one atleast three times and I do like it. This cleanser is super-concentrated, smoothing, revitalising, and deep cleansing just like a detox spa for your skin. This is paraben free and contains some super ingredients such as: Essential oils including Orange, Lavender, Clary Sage, Rose and Geranium. Pro vitamin B5 for skin softening and sweet Almond butter oils. I love to leave this on for atleast five minutes before removing it with the soft face cloth that is also included inside the box. I make sure to use this weekly or atleast every 2/3 days. After using this my skin feels renewed, super clean, very soft and looks brightened.

New Girly Lipbalms

Ten points if you can spot my cute phone case in the photo! Haha. Lipbalms. I could end up buying so many and collecting them until my make-up drawer overflows but I promised myself to finish two lipbalms and replace them with two other pretty ones. I have been eyeing up the cute Ted Baker skincare at Boots for a while now and I knew I had to pick up a lipbalm and talk about packaging goals! I still haven't thrown the box away. What is it about packaging hoarding?! Drifting away from the review but I don't know why I cannot part away from cutely packaged make-up.

Ted Baker Blush Pink Lipbalm 9g £5.00 from Boots (link)
Quite a show stopper, a gorgeous lipbalm that screams class and well, makes your other lipbalms look basic. The balm is housed in a very sturdy square shaped pot with a rose gold lid and 'Ted Baker' engraved on the top. A very delicately rose fragranced balm that comforts and hydrates the lips well. The pot is quite weighty and looks great on my dresser too! I really like this balm and I am so glad I picked this up. So far I have been using this before bed and I love how it looks on my bedside table. I'm really enjoying this lipbalm alot lately, it hydrates my lips and leaves them feeling as soft as rose petals. I definitely think it's worth the price, this would make a great stocking filler too or even as a perfect little treat for yourself.

Body Collection Strawberry Flavour Lipsalve £0.89p from Bodycare
After picking up a much luxurious and richer balm, I needed something for an everyday and often use. I pretty much have been applying this alot during the day and it does the job really well. A super moisturising balm that smells like sweet strawberries and it was on sale too! I really loved the pastel pink packaging and the elegant italic font, it really caught my attention whilst browsing all of the lip products. I should of bought two!! I also find that this preps the lips well prior to using any lip gloss or matte lipstick. Though the balm is white in colour, this does not transfer onto the lips. Which is a huge relief! Some balms or lip butters can leave a horrible white mask over the lips but not this one. A real gem.

Do you have a go-to lipbalm?

Lovisa Jewellery Review

I love accessories, from wearing dainty pieces to shopping around and just taking in the colours visually. I usually only shop at Accessorize but I found myself visiting Lovisa after discovering them on Instagram and then online. Luckily there was a branch in Birmingham and boy! Was I amazed! Everything was so pleasing to look at. All the accessories were organised by colour and hue. I wanted it all. Lovisa stocks everything from minimalistic stud earrings to the most extravagant statement necklaces and earrings.

As much as I love statement earrings/necklaces I didn't have any special occasion coming up  to buy anything and it's not something you could wear everyday so I browsed the studs section and I did not leave empty handed.

Lovisa had an offer, you could pick five items from the selected range and it would cost £8. There was a huge range of studs and rings so I picked the following: Pastel heart earrings - £1.50, Peacock feather earrings - £1.50, Green stud earrings - £1.50, Dark blue satin earrings - £2.50 and a Gold and black aztec detailed ring - £4.00. 5 for £8 otherwise it would of costed me £11.00 which I think is a pretty good deal. I have already worn the ring and three of the earrings and it really feels like good quality. There has been no irritation and the jewellery hasn't changed colour or tarnished. I used to have problems with Primark jewellery and I stopped going there for accessories. I am so happy that I finally got to wear some pieces from Lovisa, next time I am hoping to buy a few bigger pieces that I can keep in my collection and definitely from the pink collection... Surprise surprise.

Out of the five items my favourite pieces would have to be the pastel pink heart earrings *adorable alert* and the gold/black aztec inspired ring.

Have you shopped at Lovisa?
