Essence £10 Make-Up Challenge

Hi Lovelies! Hope you all are well!

This post is definitely for all you Essence Lovers out there because I recently took part in a challenge which was so much fun!
I was challenged by Essence Cosmetics to create a look that was within the £10 mark with all of the make-up that was kindly sent over. It sure was fun to swatch and try out so many other products which I had not yet tried from the brand.
It was a difficult task since I wanted to incorporate so many products into my look and the prices of all of the products was quite amazing! It is all so affordable and not forgetting to mention how cute everything looks.

So the products I decided to go for are: Get BIG! LASHES Volume CURL Mascara £2.29*, Kajal Eyeliner £0.99*, Silky Touch Blush £2.49*, Soo Glow! Cream To Powder Highlighter £2.79* and XXXL Shine Lipgloss £1.79* In total my look costed £10.35, so I was just a bit over the limit but not bad at all! Considering you get five products for the price and you can easily buy a whole look's worth of make-up

The products I chose were similar to other products I would use on a daily basis. Think flawless and dewy base with defined eyes.
So first up I chose the Get BIG! LASHES Volume CURL Mascara*. I was instantly attracted to this cutely designed mascara. The colours and fonts used on this particular product makes you want to try it out. I love the curved wand of the brush since this ensured that my lashes were coated thoroughly and evenly. I felt that my lashes looked much more defined. I did achieve volume but not an immense amount that I have previously achieved with other mascaras. I see this more of a daily use mascara for day make-up looks rather than a evening out/special occasion product.
Next is the Kajal Eyeliner*. This basic eyeliner did the job well(ish). It did not tug my eye area, it also was quite long wearing and it was easy to smudge on my upper and lower lash line but the pigmentation let this product down since it needed to be reapplied so this product was kind of a hit and miss.
The Silky Touch Blush* was a product that instantly wowed me. The beautiful hot pink is a shade I would actually buy and wear. The design imprinted onto the actual blush pigment makes the product look much more interesting and the pigmentation is amazing! I found it to match the likes of a Mac blusher! You only need to use a little bit since the impact of the colour is immense and it lasts long too! Win!
The Soo Glow! Cream To Powder Highlighter is one of my favourite products now and is currently in my make-up bag. The creamy consistency allows you to blend the product well and it definitely adds the 'glow factor' onto your skin. A perfect little skin pick me up for when your skin is looking dull. Great pigmentation and this particular shade reminds me of the Nars Copacabana highlighter but in compact form!
Lastly I finished off my look with a slick of XXXL Shine Lipgloss* I adored this milky nude pink shade since it looked natural and the tiny glitters/shimmers helped give the illusion of fuller looking lips. A easy product to use and by no means sticky or uncomfortable on the lips. I really liked this lip product and I even found it to last long too!

Overall, I think the Essence brand is cute, affordable and well worth a look and try! You can buy Essence products from Wilkinsons or from the stand alone counter in the Manchester Arndale or at Westfield Hammersmith.

What do you think of my look/chosen products?

Dior Spring 2015 Must Have Make-Up Palette

Hi Lovelies! Hope you all are well!

Ok, so this post was a spur of the moment decision because I really wanted to feature and talk about this stunning face palette by Dior. This is from the new Spring 2015 make-up collection and it honestly is the 'show stopper' out of the whole collection.

The seasonal limited-edition collector’s item is the Kingdom of Colours palette. Housed in a midnight-blue rectangular case with the brand’s cannage pattern, the palette features (from left to right) one eyeliner, three eyeshadows, two highlighters, one blusher, two lip glosses and one lip colour.

I feel like I can go on and go about this stunning piece of make-up goodness, What more could a girl want? Can you just imagine, taking just the one palette on the go. Who even needs a make-up bag full of make-up when you have this?! I love the colour scheme and it reminds me of a pastel pretty bakery. With pastel pretty greens and shimmering purples it is on trend for spring. I can guarantee this will be sold out within moments.

Chanel Reverie Parisienne Spring 2015 Make-Up Collection

Hi Lovelies! Hope you all are well!

When I think of spring I automatically think of delicate pastel shades and flowers blooming on a sunny day. Chanel's Spring 2015 collection is totally spot on, this collection brings you the essence and colours of the spring season.
I really wanted to feature this stunning collection, after all it is Chanel!
My top picks from the collection are: The blusher compact, eyeshadow quad, nail polishes and the lipsticks.
First up, the blusher! Can I just say how pretty it looks! I wouldn't even dare to ruin the design with my brush. Looks like a shimmery blusher which will add luminescence and vitality to your complexion.
The nail polishes go great in conjuction with the eyeshadows and blush. I particular like that purple shade. It is a unique shade of purple that I am yet to try out.
I have always been a huge fan of chanel quad eyeshadows, from the sleek packaging to the incredible pigmentation. The four colours in the quad are very pastel princess like and you can definitely incorporate these colours into a smokey eye look.
Last but not the least, the vibrant lippies! These colours are a great addition to the collection and it definitely breaks up the pastel spectrum. What would a collection be without a pop of fuchsia or a red?!

What are your thoughts on the Spring 2015 Chanel collection?

Live It Loud Volumising Hair Piece By Hair Raisers* | Review And Discount Code

Hi Lovelies! Hope you all are well!

Ever wanted to try out hair extensions? well you've come to read about it at the right place! I was contacted by hairaisers and was sent a volumising hair piece to trial out and review. I have never tried extensions and so this was quite exciting as I could not wait to experiment with different looks. From this product I wanted to achieve length and volume since my natural hair is already so thick
I was sent the Live it loud, 22 inches straight hair piece in the shade 1B.

This particular product is a two in one piece. It not only can be used as a hairpiece but it also doubles up as a ponytail piece. This is so handy since you do not need to purchase more than one style of hair pieces. These extensions are made of premium quality high heat fibre and it performs just as well as human hair. My natural hair colour is not exactly jet black so I chose the next colour down and that matched perfectly!
Putting these extensions in was so easy and quick. You simply straight section your hair from the front. Clip in the piece on the parting, take your front hair back and backcomb it to hide any possible clips from showing through. Surprisingly this felt so snug and although the actual weight of the extensions is 250 grams, I did not feel as if it was weighing me down. Fist pump!
I loved how healthy and shiny these extensions looked and not only that, you can style it the way you want, whether it be straightened, curled or even crimped. You just have to remember that with daily use, these need to be taken care of and with a simple shampoo and conditioner it will remain just as new. This particular hair piece features a durable lace cap which ensures no shedding of hair. The craftsmanship really exceeds the price.
So how did I get on with these hair extensions? Well since recently having my hair cut to a midi length and it being such a blunt cut, I was still able to see my hair through the extensions. It did not blend into the hair piece like I had hoped however there are many factors that could of affected this a) my hair just being way too thick b) maybe using 2x the same hair piece instead of one or c) my hair being cut so recently so it was prominent. I found that me wearing the hair piece as a ponytail worked out better. As you can see in the images above, my hair looked more natural as a ponytail rather than the hair being open.
I will however continue to experiment even more and see how my hair looks once it's grown a bit more.

Overall I am very impressed by hairaisers,This is such a quality piece of extensions. It not only looks natural but you can style it with heated appliances and the range of colours that are available means that it can match any hair colour out there. I definitely achieved great volume and without the help of any haircare products, you can trust on these extensions for adding that extra oomph to any hair that lacks volume. I am honestly glad that my first ever hair extensions experience was with hairaisers.

The lovely team over at hairaisers have also given me a 20% off discount code for you all to use on any of the hairaisers products on their website, just a little something for my lovely readers out there! Simply type 'ZARACHAUHAN20' whilst checking out. I would love to know if you are thinking of purchasing anything!

Essence Cosmetics* Review

Hi Lovelies! Hope you all are well!

Today's post is a brand focus review on Essence Cosmetics, Essence cosmetics is a brand that I have been seeing alot on my blogger news feed and I was yet to give this affordable and fun brand a try. Though this make-up brand is aimed at teens, there is certainly something for everyone. Essence offers everything you could possibly imagine and at such affordable prices too! Essence Cosmetics is a brand that believes that your make-up should deliver style, confidence and fun at a reasonable price.
Once I opened the package and saw these items, I immediately thought how festive! The eyeshadow quad and nail polish are so party appropriate since both products have shimmer/glitter in them.

First up the Quattro Eyeshadow, I personally like the four shades as it works well together. The name of this particular compact is quite ingenious and the one shimmery/glitzy colour is great for the party season. In terms of pigmentation I found this to be quite a hit and miss, the lighter eyeshadows seem to be lacking the colour impact that the darker eyeshadows have but nevertheless there's nothing a lil eye primer cannot fix. There is no mirror and/or sponge applicators included so this does let it down. It would of been a great on the go product but seeing as this compact is purely eyeshadow, it would either be great to keep and use at home or you would have to pack an eyeshadow brush along with this. Do you still use eyeshadow applicators that are included with compacts? I would love to know!
Next up is the Longlasting Lipstick, I am definitely loving this shade as this would be something I would actually buy and use. The appropriately named shade is a 'my natural lip colour but better' pink. It glides onto the lips with ease and delivers a lovely shine along with a lovely wash of colour. I love the 'e' that is imprinted onto the bullet as this gives the product a sort of a high end feel. In terms of the longevity, it lasts atleast 2 (ish) hours without needing to be reapplied. Not bad, I don't think but one of my favourite things about this lipstick is how it feels on my lips. Comfortable and super moisturising. Quite a lovely product from Essence.
Lastly the Colour & Go Nail Polish, Is a lovely red that reminds me of Dorothy's red slippers! This rather glitzy polish has lots of pink shimmer running through it which adds another dimension. I loved the brush applicator since it was flat and slightly wide which meant that applying this was easy and quick! This dried super quick and to reach full opacity, you will need to apply two coats. This nail polish shade looks great in conjunction with the eyeshadow compact since smokey eyes and accents of red in your make-up looks lovely and very evening ready-esque.

Overall I am pretty impressed with Essence Cosmetics, The products so inexpensive and since trying out all of the products, I personally think that the quality has exceeded the price and I do see some potential crowd pleasing products here! Check out Essence Cosmetics here

DIY | How To Make Glitter Playdough

Hi Lovelies! Hope you all are well!

Who remembers playing with Playdough when they were young? I certainly do and since browsing the DIY section on Pinterest (my new addiction), I came across the recipe to make your very own glittery play dough and the inner magpie in me wanted to give this a go and guess what! It is very easy to make and with ingredients that are readily available in your own home. So let me share with you the recipe that involves only 5 ingredients.

To make your own glitter play dough, you will need:

1 cup of flour
1 cup of salt
1/2 cup of water
food colouring of your choice
glitter colour of your choice

I combined the flour and salt first, then added in the water. I started to bind the dough together. If you feel that the dough is too sticky then add a bit more flour into the mix and that should sort it out or if the dough is too dry then add a splash of water. The end result should be a bouncy and a moldable dough. I then added a few drops of blue food colouring and somehow it managed to turn into a lilac colour, either way I quite like it and decided to keep it this colour but you can choose any colour you want and get really creative with it. Finally I sprinkled alot of my favourite gold holographic craft glitter onto the dough and kneaded it out.
There you have it! A easy to make play dough that will be a hit with the girls and even us grown ups! You also do not need to worry about the glitter in the dough, since the dough locks in all of the glitter, it will not leave a messy trail. So no clean up is required! This is a lovely little activity to do with your lil ones and the best bit? You can also store this dough in a container for another rainy day play.

Hope you enjoyed reading this small DIY post, I really enjoyed writing and making the dough. I will be posting more DIY related posts in the future!

What do you think of my homemade play dough recipe? Is it something that you would want to try out?

PurrBoxes* Review

Warning: This post is picture heavy!

Hi Lovelies! Hope you all are well!

Move aside beauty subscription boxes and say hello to the new cat subscription box - Purrboxes
Just like other subscription boxes, this box is sent out monthly just for your feline friend. I know there are so many cat ladies out there (including myself) who would love to try this out as this is the ultimate treat for your pet.
In each box you will recieve four or more carefully selected products and presents as well as carefully selected toys and a month's supply of cat grass and cat nip (yum!)
This truly is a unique way of keeping your kitten/cat entertained, happy and feeling loved!
Purrboxes have three reasons as to why you should subscribe and believe me I was sold at just the first reason. So why should you consider trying out purrboxes? It's good for you since you take time out to bond with your cat and in turn this makes you happier, it's good for the cat as it encourages exercise so you won't have to worry about obesity, diabetes or arthritis. Lastly it's good for home since it diverts their attention from items that they could potentially 'destroy'.
Now that I have summarised purrboxes for you, I can now get onto the review and see if  my cat Shonu approved.
First thing that I like about this box is that it fits through your letterbox, you do not need to worry about missing the delivery. The only thing you really need to worry about is if the cat gets to the box before you do since they may rip it open haha! I guess curiosity did kill the cat. Luckily I got to the box first and I got to unbox it with her which I have to admit I enjoyed. I also loved the fact that they included my cat's name on the mail! It's the little things...
The theme of the box that I was sent was 'rat attack' and the box featured quite a few rat themed products, one of which was a tea that cats can actually drink, I am yet to make it for Shonu but I thought that the design of the teabag was quite ingenious!
As soon as I laid the box on the floor, along came Shonu and let's just say that she did not waste any time in trying to take the contents out of the box. She seemed to be loving the purple tissue paper alot since she was trying to dig her paws into it and once she saw all the goodies she became like a little playful kitten. It was so hard to capture her on camera. She was so quick in playing around and discovering the items but I can definitely say that she LOVED it all.
I wasn't too sure what was going to happen to the catnip because I have tried giving it to her before and she showed no interest at all but the small brown envelope full of catnip was licked and rolled on all over, haha! As you can see in the images above she was definitely loving it and I saw a side of here which I have never seen before. Mind blown.
So after all of the extreme excitement and running around, I decided to crack open the Whiskas dentabites treats and she finished a couple within moments seconds. The mix of treats and toys is great and the leaflets that are included in the box are so detailed which makes it a good mini read too.

Overall I (and Shonu of course!) are completely impressed by this box, I would recommend checking out purrboxes and at £9.95 a month with free delivery, hardly breaks the bank and bonding with your cat is simply priceless.

Would you consider buying this for your cat

Lush Wishlist #3

lush wishlist #3

Hi Lovelies! Hope you all are well!

So here I am typing up yet another wishlist. It's no secret that Lush is loved by many and their christmas collection becomes one of the most talked about subject in the blogosphere. I have seen a few things from the collection and these five pretty bath products are the ones that struck out to me the most.
First up, Baked Alaska soap. This is such an eye catching skincare product and the citrusy scent promises to wake you up on those cold and gloomy days.
The Butterbear bath bomb sure is a Instagram worthy bath product and I would describe this as a 'hug in a tub' product because of it's comforting properties, I would definitely want to try this.
Shoot for the stars bath bomb has been on my wishlist for ages! I have heard so many good things about this product and the fact that it turns your bath water into a midnight sky makes me want to stock up on these.
Candy mountain bubble bar looks uber cute and because I am already a huge fan of the creamy candy bubble bar, I am sure that I will like love this too.
Lastly the Melting snowman bath melt is a must buy! It's so purse friendly! I want to try a spicier scent and this one is ideal for the holiday season. I really hope to pick all of these up soon.

What Lush products are on your wishlist?

Custom Cookie Co* Review

Hi Lovelies! Hope you all are well!

Today on Bows & Pearls I decided to publish a lifestyle post for you all and it has been a while since I last reviewed something so cute and oh so yummy!
The guys over at Custom Cookie Co kindly sent over some biscuit cards to review for you all and I honestly had no idea what the biscuits were going to look like so it was twice the fun when I received them.
Custom Cookie Co specialise in baking fresh cookies to suit your needs whether it be for a birthday party or for a corporate event. Either way these guys have got it all covered.
There are three scrummy flavours to choose from: Chocolate brownie, Real vanilla and ginger. You can even personalise the cookies so it just makes it that extra bit special for the person receiving it.
Cookie cards make such great gift ideas and makes gift giving so much fun (way better than the traditonal card/flower combination) There are so many to choose from and what's better is you get to choose and design the cookie how you want.
I was sent two cookie cards and I was instantly impressed at a) how the cookies were packaged because there not a breakage in sight and b) the detailing of the cookies. Being hand decorated sure shows how much effort goes into each and every one of them.
The cookies are so eye catching and from £8.50 each, it hardly breaks the bank. Now onto the taste test, I made myself a cuppa and tried a few of the smaller cute flowers. The ginger biscuit was actually not that bad! I could even detect the cinnamon which gave it a nice kick, It was soft in texture though I originally thought that the biscuits were going to be crunchier, but having said the icing does make up for lost crunch which did make the tasting experience delightful. The taste of ginger was definitely obvious but it wasn't too overpowering. The chocolate brownie flavoured ones were much more enjoyable. It was decadent and these did not last that long! I would of personally opted for the vanilla and chocolate choices over the ginger.
All in all I thoroughly enjoyed trying these out and the detailing and thought that goes into each cookie is truly commendable. A thumbs up from me!

Vaseline Queen Bee Blogger Challenge

Hi Lovelies! Hope you all are well!

Today's post is all about a lovely lil challenge that myself and other bloggers have taken part in and that is the Vaseline Queen Bee blogger challenge.
To celebrate the launch of the new limited edition Vaseline, I was not only sent the latest Vaseline tin but also a project box filled with stationery goodies to create my very own queen bee design.
Included were lots of crafty bits and bobs and I have to admit, it sure was fun to get all arty again.
I decided to make my bee 'party ready' by adding gold and black glitter onto it's stripes and wings as well as adding black gems too. I decided to paint an ombre effect on the wings with my favourite colours and I even added blusher because it's one of my favourite make-up products to use on a daily basis. Overall I am really happy with my glitzy bee design and cannot thank the team over at Vaseline and Mischief enough for letting me take part in this fun challenge.
The chosen queen bee design will win a Alex Monroe Gold Bee Necklace plus a prize to giveaway to you lovely blog readers! – a 'Hive Night Out'. The Hive Night Out involves dinner, drinks and dancing for the winner and up to three friends, at an aspirational London location with travel and accommodation included too. So here's hoping!
The new honey scented Vaseline was released on the 13th of October and it sure is another lovely addition to the limited edition family. I personally love the scent and I think that the design of the tin is adorable since it does fit in with the bee theme. I will be reviewing this product in more depth soon because it deserves a separate review.

What do you think of the new limited edition Vaseline?

Monthly Favourites | November 2014

Hi Lovelies! Hope you all are well!

Welcome to another monthly favourites post! So last month was all about products that are great for multi usage and if anyone knows me well knows that I love beauty products that can be used in many ways.
First up is the Clarins Multi Blush in 02 Candy*, This is one of my most favourite cream blushers, like ever! I love how versatile the beautiful pink shade is and the perfect gold cased packaging not only makes the blusher look classy but it also makes a great travel companion since it has a built in mirror in the compact. I also like to mix a little with Vaseline to create my own custom shade of lipgloss, don't you just love playing around with make-up?
Next is Miss Patisserie's Lip Balm in Rose Geranium* and it is the ultimate lifesaver! I use this salve not only on my lips but also to sooth any dry patches of skin as well as a cuticle balm and a eyebrow tamer! The tin itself is so pretty to look at and the product being 100% natural sure makes it a real winner to add to the list.
I am forever rotating my perfumes and the Sweet Heart Matchbox Perfume* by My English Summer has been one of the perfumes that I have been reaching out to again. I love solid perfumes and this unique looking product sure looks great on my dresser and even in my bag! It sure is alot easier to travel with too!
Hydrating my eyes has been my top priority and using the Boots Vitamin E Eye Cream I have actually seen a difference in my eye area and I will be reviewing this in more depth soon because it definitely needs to be talked about. It is such a light and super moisturising cream and for the price it over exceeds it's ability to actually work and I think it's fab that I have actually found a bargainous eye cream that works!
Lastly an old favourite of mine which I have been using again, the Burts Bees Almond and Milk Handcream* smells delish and does a great job at sealing and shielding your hands from the cold weather. It's a hand cream that I actually look forward to using. If you are a fan of these kind of scents then do check this one out!

What have you been loving in the month of November?
