Dirty Works Rose & Glow Moisture Mask - Review

Dirty Works Mask*

Dirty Works is a brand i have seen on many blogs and the packaging seems to just grab my attention.
It somewhat reminds me of Soap and Glory products with the colour scheme, illustrations and the informative text.
I have no idea why i didn't try this before because it is BRILLIANT!
It is perfect for when you need a perk and this is exactly what i did yesterday, I had a bit of a multitasking moment and while trying to sort dinner out i had the mask on.
I left it on for a good 10 minutes until it felt dry (you know it is when you start pulling funny faces) and then i rinsed it off with lukewarm water and my skin felt as if it had drank a litre of water. I have never felt so comfortable in my own skin, i have used many masks but this one left no tightness, dryness but it left my skin feeling like a baby. Really smooth and I felt hydrated too. My complexion also had a bit of a glow too.
If you love rose scents you will love this because it smells like a dozen fresh cut roses and not artificial either. I love scented products rather then unscented and this isn't too overpowering but it just adds to the relaxing experience. The price of this product doesn't do justice to the product because it really felt like i used a high end product.
This is great for dry/combination and even normal skin types.

I thoroughly enjoyed using this and i extremely recommend this to everyone.
I cannot wait to start using more products from this brand!
Have you tried any product(s) from the Dirty Works brand? What did you think of it? I would love to know :)

Good Things Fresh Start Creamy Cleanser - Review

Good Things Cleanser*

Good things is a brand i have never heard of or tried so i was excited to see how this performed. The range is by beauty journalist called Alice Hart-Davis. The range includes cleansers, wipes, moisturisers, a face mask and an exfoliating polish, it  is designed for teenage girls and young women.
My first impressions: The packaging. It’s lovely – simple, the tube has pretty pink and purple floral patterns which could jazz up any bathroom. The cleanser comes in a standard plastic tube that holds 150ml with a good sturdy locking flip lid at the bottom.
The Fresh Start Cleanser has extracts of Grape and Pomegranate, natural antioxidants. It smells divine and is literally good enough to eat. But the fragrance doesn't smell artificial which is great because this smells like fresh fruit to be precise. I reckon teenagers would love it, the scent is spot on.
In terms of how it felt on my skin: When massaging my face with the product it felt like liquid silk and as suggested i used a hot cloth (Had my Liz Earle muslin cloth at the ready) and this enhanced the experience because my skin was left feeling very soft and hydrated. It also didn't leave my skin feeling tight or dry because i have had that feeling with other cleansers. I have combination skin and this will work great with oily to combination skin types.

I enjoyed using this cleanser and i think that there is a gap in the young beauty market for a more natural alternative to the harsh products which strip your skin of its natural oils and giving that tight feeling which am sure no one will want. I am very pleased to see a range which has really considered what young girls both need and want: gentle and effective products that work with your skin, packaged beautifully, and that smells delicious!

The range is available at Boots, Check out the Cleanser here >> Good Things

EX1 Cosmetics Delete Concealer, An Anti-Blemish/Dark Circle Corrector

EX1 Concealer*

I cannot live without concealers, it is one of the things that i cannot leave the house without.
I am on the hunt for a new heavy duty concealer that actually stays put and conceals my flaws perfectly.
The EX1 Concealer has Antioxidants that defend against ageing free radicals while the Vitamin E helps soothe and heal blemishes. It doesn't clog pores and it is 100% oil and fragrance free.
Firstly i love how this brand is specifically targeted towards Asian and Exotics skin tones because it is just as hard to find our shades in other brands. I like how you can only see how much product is in the see through pot because i know how it feels to pay alot for little product and some packaging can be misleading.
The product itself glides onto the skin effortlessly and blends like a dream! I would say that the coverage is medium but it can be built up. I opted for the shade D100 which is the lightest out of the three shades available but the shade seemed a little dark for my face. Even though it is yellow toned it didn't match my skin as i'd hoped for. I did mix it with my yellow colour corrector and then it matched well. Goes to show that each person's skin tone is so unique. I am sure that EX1 will continue to expand the concealer line because currently only three shades are available. I do love the concealer but i needed the exact shade.
In terms of longevity,it lasted well on my skin and much more longer then my previous concealer which was from the Maybelline's Fit me range. I also like how dense and concentrated the product is because it some what matches the likes of the M.A.C's Studio Finish concealer but without the price tag.

I would recommend this nifty little thing! it conceals well, great value for money, blendable and the longevity is great!

Mini cleansers that are great for long travels, great for on the plane too :) all you need to carry with it is a couple of cotton wool pads and you're good to go!
Mini Primers, excellent to keep for those sudden night's out when you need your make up to stay put.
Handcreams are a must, I never leave without mine. The anti itch? great for abroad trips perhaps? damn those mosquitos!

EX1 Blusher Pretty in Peach - Review

EX1 Blusher*
I just love blushers! I was sent a blusher from EX1 Cosmetics and I absolutely loved this shade.
All of the EX1 Blushers are 100% oil and fragrance free and it is non pore clogging too!
There are 4 shades available and each one enhances your skin tone by either giving warmth, a healthier appearance,a holiday glow and radiance too.
Pretty in peach gives warmth to my complexion and oh my! the pigmentation is fantastic! (slight exaggeration) but you literally just need to touch the tip of your blusher brush and you have enough colour to create a natural flush. Trust me you do not need to swirl your brush!
The colour itself is pretty, a coral peach shade that instantly reminds you of the warmer months to come. The texture is very creamy even though it is powder and it is very light and blendable. I think that 4 shades in the collection is simply not enough! Great to add to your blusher collection and trust me this one is currently my go to!
A fantastic product from this brand ^^ I highly recommend this blusher!

EX1 Cosmetics - Post Preview And Overview Of The Brand.

It is time to rejoice... there is a new cosmetics brand that is targeted for Asian and Exotic skin tones AND at a high street price!!!
Normally we tend to go for M.A.C when we think of Asian and Exotic skin tones but the issue is the price because buying it each time and possibly buying two to mix is not exactly cheap.
Many struggle to find the exact match or just in general to find shades.
but...
EX1 Cosmetics are a high street brand designed for Asian and Exotic skin tones. I think that they have noticed how pricey other brands can be and it is about time that more shades were developed and it is much more affordable too :)
This brand has already been featured in top magazines such as Asiana, Grazia and Cosmopolitan (there are many more publications but I just listed the popular ones)
The range also includes Compact Powders, Blushers, Under Eye Concealers and Mineral Powder Foundations which is fantastic! The range does look promising!
I received the liquid foundation, concealer and blusher that I will be testing out so do keep an eye out for those reviews.

What are your views on finding the right shade of foundation? easy or hard? Comment below! ^^

300 GFC Followers & First attempt at making cake pops!

Firstly I want to thank each and every reader/follower for making my follower count reach to 300! It only feels like I started blogging yesterday and I didn't know how many of you would actually read/follow what I have to say! means alot and thank you once again! I will try harder in posting daily like I used to and I have alot of beauty product reviews and a few miscellaneous items to review too! so stay tuned! ^^

It had been a while since I baked something and since I loved the UGG cake pop I thought why don't I attempt to make some cake pops?!
It looked fun and easy on other tutorials so I gave it a shot last Sunday, Sundays are my fave days where I chill, have some me time or bake because my weekdays are busy with work.
I thought to document the process and add it here. Cake pops look so much better than the traditional cupcake and you can be very creative with these too but since this was my first time I kept it simple with the cake being red velvet, the coating being milk chocolate and the sprinkles being crushed rainbow dots and chocolate strands.
I just could not wait to see the finished product and obviously decorating was the funnest part out of all of the steps.
I gave some to my friends to sample them and they seemed to love it but me being the perfectionist kept saying that the cake batter was a bit dry... but now I personally know what to improve on for next time.

Have you tried cake pops before? what are your views on them and do you know a good bakery that sells some decent tasting ones? I would love to know so please comment ^^

Bloggers Event - Exclusive Preview of the new UGG Australia S/S 2013 Collection

Recently I was lucky enough to be invited to see the preview of the new UGG Spring Summer collection at the concept store in Birmingham.
I was given a tour by the lovely Holly and was given an indepth overview of each of the collections which was nice. I have never bought UGGS before because I never seem to have a liking for them but the fact that the collection had eastern influences made me want to see how UGG would have incorporated the colours and textures of Marrakech into their designs.
For the Spring/Summer collection UGG have launched a collection that is entitled 'Meet Me In Marrakech'
To my astonishment there were actually more 'normal' shoes than the typical UGG boot so it was nice to see other types of footwear and I have to also comment on the level of comfort each shoe could provide and that is that even the tallest wedges seemed comfy!
I think the collection was spot on, in terms of colours and how each shoe looked. There was ALOT of colour that even the cake pops and macaroons were coloured to match the theme! ^^
My favourite was the Lucianna Marrakech in night (navy blue and cream) simply because the patterns, colours and overall look of the shoe looks great and it really stands out. Overall each shoe, wedge and sandal in this collection is great because you have bold jewel tones and then you have the earthy neutrals with prints, textures and detachable charms.

Press event*
At the end I was given a very generous goody bag and this is what was inside...
  • a beach towel (orange floral print with the UGG logo)
  • A handy USB pen (2GB)
  • an exclusively designed luggage tag (came in three colours and knowing me I went for the monochromatic one)
  • a glossy book full of images of the Spring/Summer collection
  • and not forgetting the cake pop!

Have you seen this collection, or maybe bought something from it? What do you think of this collection?
