The beauty of Mineral make up.. reviews and opinions

As requested I decided to dedicate this post to a friend who needed help in choosing mineral make up.. hope this helps Lois! :D

DEFINE MINERAL MAKE UP:

Comprised of a variety of the earth’s natural mineral elements. These often include zinc oxide, iron oxides, titanium dioxide and bismuth oxychloride.

A pure mineral make up is combined with inorganic pigments to achieve the desired colour. None of the artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances that one may find in chemical based make up should be present.

THE BENEFITS...

If ‘pressed’ in the manufacturing process, it is easy to apply and maintain for a long term period of time.
Many believe it offers a more natural look – and a better feel due to its light weight.
If the powder particles don’t penetrate the skin, then pure mineral make up is less likely to be inflammatory or otherwise irritate sensitive skin.
Mineral based make up may also act as a natural sunscreen.

MY TOP CHOSEN MINERAL MAKE UP FROM THE FOLLOWING BRANDS

BAREMINERALS FOUNDATION, £23
Not just the best-selling mineral make-up in the US, but the best-selling foundation full-stop, women go crazy for this ultra-pure, loose foundation. If you are looking for a mineral make-up without added ingredients (which many of the cheaper brands do use), then this is the one for you, however, be warned, it does deliver a slightly shinier finish than some versions and, therefore, doesn't always flatter oily skin types. Available in all skin tones! :)

MAYBELLINE PURE FOUNDATION MINERAL, £9.78
Mineral make-up can be expensive, which is why I'm impressed with Maybelline's version. The talc-free, SPF15 version costs a bargainous £9.99 and even comes with its own Kabuki brush (an absolute must for applying mineral make-up).

Available in all shades up till Honey beige which is this tone.

MAC MINERALIZE SATIN FINISH SPF15, £22.50
For the best of both worlds, MAC's liquid mineral foundation combines the benefits of minerals including natural sun protection and skin-conditioning properties with the moisturising benefits of a liquid foundation. Best for normal to dry skin types, this delivers natural coverage and makes skin feel fantastic.
Available in all shades up to NC50 and NW45

URBAN DECAY SURREAL SKIN MINERAL MAKE-UP, £17
One of the main complaints about loose mineral foundations is that they're impossible to transport. Not so with Urban Decay's frankly ingenious version. Hidden underneath the lid is a buff sponge through which the make-up is delivered evenly, which makes application a breeze. A handbag must for mineral make-up fans, it's also more matte than many of the others available, so perfect if you suffer from oily skin.

Available in all shades up to fantasy.

L'ORÉAL TRUE MATCH MINERALS, £14.29
If you want a portable mineral make-up, but don't like the sponge applicator on Urban Decay's version, L'Oréal's dinky brush-in-the-lid is an ideal alternative. Ideal for all skin types, it's been so successful, there are now matching mineral blushers and eyeshadows, too. Available in all shades up to Honey glow which is a dark tan shade.
